Care
My pieces are handcrafted from natural linen, and part of the collection is naturally hand-dyed. Because of this artisan process, a strictly delicate wash is essential to keep them beautiful for years.
- The Soak: Soak your textile pieces in cool water with a delicate liquid detergent for 10–15 minutes.
-
The Wash & Rinse: If using a washing machine, place the item inside a protective laundry bag and choose a cold, delicate cycle.
- Drying: To preserve the precise geometry of the Pojagi, Boro, and patchwork seams, always air dry your items flat on a drying rack. Avoid tumble drying at all costs, as machine drying can cause shrinkage and distort the delicate seamwork.
-
Ironing: For the best result, iron the linen or cotton while the fabric is still slightly damp. To fully protect the intricate handwork, texture, and original prints, always iron through a protective cloth.
Quick Care Essentials
- Water Temp: Max 40°C (104°F). Cold water for machine rinsing.
- Machine Wash: Delicate/handwash cycle only, always inside a laundry bag.
- No Tumble Dry: Air dry flat only.
- No Bleach: Avoid harsh chemicals to preserve the natural textures and hand-dyed tones.
A Note on Sunlight & Natural Aging
Since Ecru Etudes pieces are made from 100% natural linen and cotton, they will gently and beautifully soften and fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight. This natural aging process is not a defect—it adds unique character, making your Étude look even more soulful, organic, and authentic as the years go by.
Please note: To ensure your handcrafted piece lasts for generations, please follow these steps carefully. I cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from improper washing, bleaching, or machine drying techniques.
